CAPS United officials, who were inundated with calls from their fans who wanted to know the true position related to Samakwere, yesterday decided to release the contract the midfielder signed in Harare on Wednesday.

“Chris told us that it has always been his dream to play for CAPS United one day and, after his stint at TP Mazembe, he feels this is the right time for him to move to our club,” CAPS United vice-president, Farai Jere, said yesterday.
“The negotiations with his management team were smooth and we are happy to have landed a player of his calibre, whom we feel will bring a new dimension to our team.
“When you have a player who wants to play for a club and a club who also wants the services of that player, it’s easy to strike a deal and Chris has told us that he will work very hard, during the off-season, to be in great shape for the new season.’

Luckson Kaisa, the Black Mambas centreback, also moves to the Green Machine on a three-year deal.
Of the new arrivals, only Darryl Nyandoro is on a two-year deal.
