Sadc special forces meet in Kariba

MORE than 900 Sadc Special Forces from 10 countries will this month converge in Kariba for a training exercise code named Mahombekombe. This is the first time Zimbabwe is hosting such an exercise after having participated in four other Sadc exercises in Angola, Lesotho, Namibia, and Zambia. This week will see the arrival of trainers who will acclimatise themselves with Kariba in preparation for the training that starts on August 24.

Briefing stakeholders from the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, Immigration, Zimbabwe National Roads Administration, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management, state security agents, defence attachees and other Government ministries in Harare on Tuesday, Chief of Staff General Major General Trust Mugoba, said the troops would be bringing their own military hardware.
