SA comedian for Harare

Indian-born and celebrated South African comedian Riiad Moosa (pictured) is coming to Zimbabwe for a one-off comedy show dubbed “The Best of Riaad Moosa”.

Event organisers for this first ever Riaad Moosa comedy show in Zimbabwe have assured fans of a high-end event that will immensely contribute to the development of local comedy.

“It’s a must attend event that will bring together the who is who in Zimbabwe and we have put in place the necessary logistics to assure comedy lovers an incident-free and top-notch event. Riaad is one of the best comedians in South Africa and we are happy to be bringing him to Zimbabwe at a time comedy is fast becoming a hit with locals,” said Clint Robinson of C & A Entertainment.

The 38-year-old award-winning comedian, who is coming to Zimbabwe courtesy of Sopranos Restaurant and C & A Entertainment partnering Esteem Communications, will be cracking comedy lovers’ ribs in a one-off affair which he believes will leave an indelible mark in Zimbabwe.

“Comedy is big in South Africa and I am happy with the strides that local comedians are making in Zimbabwe and it is really an honour for me to come and give my best to Zimbabweans.

“Fans should brace for a top-drawer performance and I just can’t wait to be there,” said Riaad.

Besides having made it big in comedy, Riaad is also a qualified doctor and an actor with several awards to his name. The comedian-cum-actor has also featured in South African movies and TV shows, namely “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”, “Material” and “The Pure Monate Show”. Moosa created a strong brand revered by many in neighbouring South Africa in the process touring far and wide delivering sold-out and thrilling shows.

Riaad, who is also a writer and presenter, has won awards through his acting and comedy roles and these include The Golden Horn Award for Best Actor in Feature Film and the Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Act in a TV Comedy.

Comedy is fast making a big claim in Zimbabwe with local comedians such as Carl Joshua Ncube, Michael Kudakwashe, Clive Chigubhu and Doc Vikela making a name for themselves. The Riaad Show should in Zimbabwe should be a big endorsement for local comedy and fans should brace for more.
