Music producer Russell “Russo” Chiradza has been hailed for his great artistry that he exhibited on Lil Major’s single titled “Me and My Baby” featuring Varaidzo Nyakunika. The single is on heavy rotation both locally and intentionally on stations such as Canadian-based Africa Radio Show 88.5, hosted by DJ Tinos “Slicey T” Viriri, who is also Lil Major’s father.

“As a producer who worked with other producers I think Russo is one Zimbabwean producer who is talented and good at his work. A producer should be able to tell if a song is a hit or a miss or better still, should be able to suggest who should be featured on a track. This is what Russo is good at.

“Apart from recording Slice, I was impressed with his work with Lil Major.“The track ‘Me and My Baby’ is good and I am happy he has shown the young man the way. The track is doing well,” Slicey T said.

He said they were planning on collaborations between R&B star Tinashe Kachingwe based in the US and Lil Major this year and another collaboration with Nox Guni.  Asked how his 12-year-old son Lil Major was performing at school, Slicey T said: “He takes his school seriously but music is a hobby just like any kid playing any sport at school. He is doing his secondary education at Speciss, but I always make sure that he focuses on school first before he goes into studio and this has been going perfectly well since I am also his manager,” he said.

DJ Slicey T recently launched the first African Radio Show in Canada that broadcasts every Sunday beginning 8pm (Zimbabwean time) and accessed online or tune in App or 88.5FM for those in Canada. The show is aimed at giving African artistes the much needed exposure as well as updates to Zimbabweans and the African community living in Canada on the trends across the African continent ranging from entertainment, sports, social and politics. – CL Writer.
