Musician Rockford “Roki’’ Josphat who was supposed to perfom at Miss Zimbabwe Cape Town in South Africa next week has cancelled the show to embark on his Australian tour.
Roki who is leaving the country for Australia next week is set to share the stage with Soul Jah Love in Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane from September 5 to 7.

Roki’s manager, Tobias Matavikwa, confirmed the development saying they cancelled the SA show because they had failed to reach a consensus with the organisers of the pageant on time.

“We failed to reach an agreement with the Miss Zim Cape Town organisers on time so we cancelled the trip to go for the Australian tour,” he said.

“Preparations for the tour are now on course. We have already collected the visas and I can confirm that Roki will be leaving the country for Australia on Wednesday together with Soul Jah Love with whom he will be sharing stage.

“It is Roki’s first time to tour Australia and he can’t wait to show his Australian fans what he is made of,” he said.

Miss Zim Cape Town events director Taona Kandemiri also confirmed that they had been notified about the cancellation before they could finalise payment procedures with Roki. “It is true that we were yet to finalise with Roki on the issue of remuneration and they have told us they now have other commitments. Anyway other artists billed to perform on the day have confirmed their participation,” he said.

Roki was supposed to share the stage with Sebede, a jazz group called The Mind Colony and Jasqia a young talented hip hop artist from Zimbabwe among a number of artists that will perform at Cape Town City Hall on September 5 at the pageant.
