Her split from Calvin Harris last June resulted in the severe delay of her second album. And Rita Ora couldn’t help but take a slight swipe at her ex-boyfriend as she performed at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Norwich on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old made reference to her former flame as she took to the stage hours before his current squeeze, Taylor Swift, also performed at the festival.

Introducing the number one hit that she wrote with the Scottish DJ/producer titled “I Will Never Let You Down”, Rita told the 50 000 strong crowd: “You know when there is a song and no matter what happens the music still stands for itself.”

She also told Daily Star that her single, “Poison” was about a toxic relationship, suggesting she was once again talking about Calvin.

She said: “Poison was a long time coming for me, being a 24-year-old girl and it’s about how I envisage love and a time in my life when it was poisonous.

“It’s a really honest song for me as I do love a beer in the morning when I’m hungover, or a Bloody Mary, but I wanted to say things that actually happened to me.”

Showing her ex what he was missing in a sexy ensemble, the London girl showcased her shapely legs in thigh-high black boots as she rocked a gladiator style black skated dress.

Styling her dyed blonde locks off her face in a sleek, straight style, Rita completed her look with flawlessly applied foundation and her trademark red lipstick.

The singer was clearly thrilled with her performance at the event as she tweeted a link to her performance saying: “Thank you @BBCR1 #BigWeekend for inviting me! So excited to perform ‘Poison’ for the first time!”

“Poison” is the second official single from her yet-to-be released sophomore album which is set for release in January.

Rita was forced to scrap her album plans and return to the studio with the likes of will.i.am and popular producer DJ Mustard after Calvin banned her from using any material they had worked on together during their one year relationship. – DailyMail.
