Rihanna becomes recording industry’s top digital singles artist of all time ahead of her music video release.

Well, she is certainly getting that money.

Rihanna set a digital music record on Wednesday just hours before the release of her full music video for racy track “B*** Better Have My Money” (BBHMM).

The Recording Industry Association of America announced Wednesday morning that the Grammy-winning R‘n’B singer is the first artist to surpass more than 100 million cumulative digital singles.

The 27-year-old — who has ten years of chart topping under her belt — made it to the top of the list, thanks to her latest release “BBHMM”.

Rihanna has landed the top spot ahead of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, who are in the second and third places respectively.

They are not that far behind, however, with Taylor currently having 88 million certified units to her name.

The recording industry’s digital single certifications count download sales and on-demand streams in the United States.

Cary Sherman, the association’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement: “Rihanna has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so.

“It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”

Rihanna has won eight Grammy awards and has seven studio albums to her name. Her songs “We Found Love”, “Stay and Only Girl (In The World)” are among her top-selling singles.

This historic feat was not lost on the pop star and she took to her social media to thank God for helping her achiever her dream.

The singer wrote on Instagram: “Thank you God for fulfilling Your plans in my life . . . All the Glory belongs to You!

“HistoRIH! First and only! God is great!”

As well as celebrating the milestone, RihRih also tried to get fans excited about her midnight release of the full video of “BBHMM”.

The star had released a teaser on Sunday during the BET Awards showing her kidnapping a woman and stuffing her into a designer trunk.

On Wednesday, the Diamonds singer revealed she was feeling nervous ahead of the full length release as not only is it for her song and she stars in it but she also directed the clip too.

Posting a still on Instagram, she said:

“Ya girl got director skillz! The concept for this piece came to me eight months ago! So you can imagine how anxious I am right now!”
