BLACK Rhinos handball and taekwondo teams presented the medals they won last season to the Zimbabwe National Army Sports chairman, Major General Trust Mugova, at KGVI yesterday.

The two teams excelled in national tournaments with the taekwondo team bringing home three trophies while the handball team had one.

The handball team won the Presidential Cup Tournament at Houghton Park in September after they had begged the ZNA season Opening tournament at Manyame Airbase in May and also the University of Zimbabwe 60th anniversary tournament on October.

The taekwondo team won the Bulawayo National Championships.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony Mugova praised the teams and challenged other sporting disciplines to emulate them.

“I am happy that today is another historic day as we commemorate the achievements made by our two teams. The teams continue to make the organisation proud as they continuously dominate their opponents and these are the fruits of hardwork.

“As the army we value sport so much that special priority is put in ensuring recruitment, nurturing and development of sportspersons. It is our desire that our sports teams are well catered for and remain torchbearers of sporting excellence in the country,” Mugova said.
