A serious dogfight for the right to remain in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is on the cards when the curtain comes down on the 2013 season tomorrow, with six teams ready to play matches of their lives. While attention is at the top of the table where the championship is also set to be decided tomorrow, following a tight race involving defending champions Dynamos, Highlanders and surprise packages Harare City, there are also crucial games involving even teams in the middle of the table.

The four teams at the bottom of the table are relegated every year and already three have gone down the drain to leave one slot to be decided on the last day.

Shabanie Mine, Triangle, Hwange, Buffaloes, Black Mambas and Black Rhinos are only separated by three points on the log standings and will all be involved in crucial battles with full knowledge that one team will have to go at the end of the day.

Army side Black Rhinos are currently in the drop zone with 37 points and they will face relegated former champions Monomotapa at Gwanzura.

Rhinos need victory to be safe and they will only have themselves to blame if they fail to collect maximum points against a Monomotapa side that has since stopped training because of financial problems.

Monos have struggled to raise a team to fulfill their recent matches and last week they arrived more than 30 minutes late for their match at Buffaloes which they lost 1-0 at Sakubva.

They were bailed out by the PSL to make that trip.
Rhinos have fought bravely to continue hanging on to their place after winning three of their last four matches and drawing one.

Coal-miners Hwange also appear to have an easy outing in their last match as they host another relegated side Motor Action at the Colliery.

Hwange have 38 points and a win tomorrow could all but seal a place in the Premiership for next season.
Three teams are packed on 38 points with Black Mambas and Buffaloes also featuring in the traffic jam.

Buffaloes will be away at FC Platinum who are fighting for a fourth place finish.
But they need the points more.

Mambas appear to have the most daunting task as they square off with championship contenders Dynamos at Rufaro.
Mambas would need to double their efforts since their opponents Dynamos will also be out for maximum points to enhance chances of retaining the title.

Triangle and Shabanie Mine are on 39 and 40 points and they need points in their last matches in case the unthinkable happens in the matches involving the teams below them.

Luke Masomere’s Shabanie Mine will finish off with a difficult assignment against Highlanders who are also looking to finish with a win as they still entertain chances in the title chase. Triangle will be at home against Chicken Inn.
