Zanu-PF Deputy Political Commissar Cde Omega Hungwe has called on all party cadres to ensure that they are registered for next year’s elections, saying the party needs a resounding victory.

Cde Hungwe was speaking at a Village Road Traffic Safety Gala held at Mount Bhelingwe in Mberengwa North constituency.

“I hope you are all aware that ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) will be coming here to register people to vote,” she said. “Do not ignore that process thinking that you registered in 2013. No!

“Everyone needs to re-register, so here I am calling upon all chiefs and headmen to ensure that when ZEC comes, we make sure that we take our people to go and register.”

Cde Hungwe said Zanu-PF was an organised party, hence everything had to be in order.

She said Zanu-PF was the only party of choice with a proven track record of delivering good results for the people of Zimbabwe.

Cde Hungwe called for unity in the party, saying reports that some people were trying to cause problems for sitting Mberengwa North MP Cde Tafanana Zhou were unfortunate.

“As the party’s deputy commissar, I want to advise you that when you vote for that person you think is better, that person will need time to learn about things in Parliament,” she said.

“So, for now I would urge you to deal with someone you have worked with and who is now well versed with the functions of Parliament than to get someone who will need to learn.”

Cde Hungwe urged Zanu-PF supporters to continue working with their sitting legislators and councillors for continuity purposes.
