Today will be reggae versus jazz affair as two of the country’s most promising reggae artistes, Logun and Slash T, will combine forces as they will try to outclass seasoned female jazz sensation Rute Mbangwa at The Roof Travel Plaza.

The reggae duo of Slash T and Logun, whose real names are Takudzwa Chinoda and Tinashe Nyaluwa respectively, are slowly but surely proving to be forces to surmise with as the artistes have recently held a double album launch at Misty’s Night Club last month.

Since then, the duo and their Roots Element Band, has held various joint shows across Harare thereby winning the hearts of many including the respect of well established reggae musicians.

With today’s imminent show, their fan base and attractiveness is expected to broaden further as the event organisers are expecting a big crowd to be present at the Reggae meets Jazz event.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, event organiser, Stutts Angie, who is also the manager for both Logun and Slash T, said the show, which has been dubbed Reggae meets Jazz, is scheduled to start at 7pm till late and they are expecting a huge attendance.

“We are anticipating an immense number of people to come for this exclusive fusion of reggae and jazz as we have realised the need to diversify our crowd pulling practices.

“Furthermore, this is an opportunity to allow different artistes to come collectively and carve up ideas for the betterment of their abilities” she said.

In addition, Stutts Angie said that a collaboration between Logun, Slash T and Rute Mbangwa is on the cards as the trio will try to bring out something distinctive for their legion of fans.

Rute Mbangwa, on the other hand, is well known in the music industry both as a jazz musician and voice tutor at the Zimbabwe College of Music.

With her band, The Jazz Sensation, they will try to prove their mettle against a much younger and effervescent duo who is taking the Zimbabwean reggae music world by storm in countless unforeseen ways.
