South Africa-based musician Blessing Makiwa Matongo aka Ras Bledz is gradually making his way up the music ladder with his exciting songs and videos.

The musician recently dropped an EP titled “Chezider” that has tracks “Harare”, “Lady Masiziba”, “Adorable” and the title-track. Ras Bledz is currently working on videos of the tracks and scenes will be shot in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Working with Nox and Tifer Guni at Ice ‘n’ Roses Studio, the musician has come up with tracks that can compete on the regional market. His previous videos were played on various regional channels and their quality has been praised by reviewers.

Ras Bledz’s strength in video-making could see him breaking on to the international market. Videos of previous songs “Nguva Yareba”, “Summer Time”, “Ruva Rangu” and “Rudo Rwawandipa” have proved to be exciting productions that introduced Ras Bledz to the music industry in an emphatic way.

The singer is planning to bring his music to his fans back home through live shows that are set for December. So far he has been doing shows in South Africa and is set to perform in Cape Town next month.

His music has been enhanced by the experience of some of his instrumentalists that include bass guitarist Simon Meki who once worked with Thomas Mapfumo and former Midnight Magic lead guitarist Kenny Mwanza.

“We are doing well as a band and we are rehearsing to perfect our act. We will be in Cape Town for a show next month and we will be coming home to do several shows during the festive season,” said Ras Bledz.

“I am happy with how my music has been received. It shows that the band has a bright future. Working with experienced instrumentalists has made our performances good. The guys who do my videos are good and we always come up with perfect productions. We want to take the music to another level this year. My third album is coming this year.”
