When musicians record duets, fans usually request for joint performances live on stage. Suluman “Sulu” Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah recorded a song “Sean Timba” that made waves last year and is still a hit with many of their fans. The song cemented the relationship of the two artistes and whenever they share the stage, they leave fans asking for more.

So when Sulu and Jah Prayzah meet this Sunday at a new club Rangers Gardens in Westlea for a family show, chances are that there will be a lot of thrills.

The venue that is new in the showbiz is fast gaining ground and patrons have already endorsed it.

The show will coincide with birthday celebrations for Sulu’s publicist Joe “Local” Nyamungoma.

Nyamungoma has been outstanding since he joined Sulu from the late Prince Tendai’s camp a couple of years ago.

He is rated among the top publicists in the music fraternity and on Sunday he will celebrate his achievements as he gets a year older.

He said he is happy to celebrate his birthday at work.

“It is like celebrating birthday at work because music has become part of me. While we give fans the best on stage, we will also celebrate our achievements with them. I am happy that organisers of the show have planned my birthday party to go together with the family shows,” said Nyamungoma.

It will be the second time for Sulu to perform at Rangers Gardens and Nyamungoma said they have prepared a good show for their fans.

With Orchestra Dendera Kings led by captain Sulu, every show is different and he is not as predictable as his critics say because he has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

He will be dishing out songs from their latest album “Gunship” that has been received well by fans.

Jah Prayzah is likely to continue with his good performance which has made him one of the sought-after musicians in the country.

Jah Prayzah is sampling songs from his forthcoming album “Jerusarema” at his shows.

The musician sampled some of the songs in Gweru recently and fans went frenzy. He has a number of awards in his name and has performed in and outside Harare.

That alone spoke volumes of how talented Jah Prayzah is.

Jah Prayzah is the sort of musician who does not belong to a particular genre and it is difficult to pigeon hole his music. His manageress Filda Muchabaiwa said a lot was expected at the show as they were sharing stage with Sulu.

“‘Jerusarema’ is around the corner and I tell you our shows are full of action as we are taking the songs to our fans,” she said.

The album will be launched on May 22 at the Harare International Conference Centre.
