Pretty Xaba battling cancer

Enter1Sophia Chese Arts Correspondent
Veteran actress Pretty Xaba is battling cancer of the oesophagus which was diagnosed two months ago.
In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Xaba said she was recuperating from home after taking her medication.“I started having some pain on my throat and for a time I ignored it until it became serious. I went to see a doctor and was told that I have been attacked by cancer of the oesophagus. I was given some medication which I am currently taking,” she said.

According to medical websites, oesophageal cancer is described as cancer arising from the foodpipe that runs between the throat and the stomach.

Symptoms often include trouble swallowing and weight loss. Other symptoms may include pain with swallowing, a hoarse voice, enlarged lymph nodes (glands) around the clavicle (collarbone), a dry cough, and possibly coughing up or vomiting blood.

Xaba said she is responding well to treatment.

“I am glad that I am responding to treatment. I am feeling much better now,” she said.

Xaba is popularly known as Siphilisiwe or Mai Muwengwa. With these names many will recognise her as the woman with sublime skills in the Zimbabwean acting sector.

She featured on a number of local dramas including “Xola” produced by King Dube, “Coliwe”, “I want a dress” by Tsitsi Dangarembga, “Everyone’s Child”, “Studio 263”, “Lobola” among others.

She also had several roles in a number of radio productions and a lot of educational videos for a number of organisations.

Xaba is optimistic that she will be well and thanked fellow artistes for their unwavering support during this time.

“At least all those I have worked with have shown love and have given me support. They come to see me almost every day and I’m just grateful. I can’t ask for more.

“Tatenda Mavetera, Tendai Chakanyuka, Tavonga Mafundikwa, Tinopona Katsande, Mbudziyadhura, the list is endless, they all have shown support,” she said.

    You want her to die. Its like telling her to boil cooking oil and drink it to cure her cancer. Let her deal with the doctors who can medically tell what one is suffering from. These prophets wait for you to be told what you are suffering from by the doctors and then claim to cure the same. Well done Xaba for choosing the medical root. Others died in a building collapse as they waited for the so called healing from a so called man of god in Nigeria.

    Anointing Oil is biblical and works to those who believe
    James 5:13 to 15 “Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.”

      Mmmmm Mr or Mrs Believer you are misinterpreting the scripture right out! If you read the last part of the verse it mentions of the person having sinned and will be forgiven. Hence this is spiritual sickness where someone slows down in worshipping because their conscience is sick because of sin. Elders will pray with that person to restore faith. Sorry you Makandiwa and Magaya believers I do not go by your faith because from the onset why can true prophets belong to two separate churches when God is merely one. God has his worshipping standards and God is one and his church should be one. It is only logical. If you were alive during Jesus’ time would you be either a Makandiwa follower or Magaya follower or you would follow the organization that Jesus was with, not organizations but one organization led by Jesus. You get it! Do you know that the Devil is clever. He knows people want riches(that is why you rush to be blessed to get rich), and he knows if a fleshly person gets pain he or she will do anything to get out of the pain. This is the main reason why these healing(pain) and wealth getting(riches) churches are sprouting all over! Do you remember Job? The devil accused him of false faith and contended with God that Job only worshipped God because he was blessed with riches but Job stood for God even when he lost riches. Now you tell me instead of worshipping for the sake of worshipping we seek blessings through riches. After the devil failed to sway Job’s faith, he said Job should be pained and he will give up his faith, he was attacked with leprosy but he did not give up. So which side of the contention are we we we rush for riches and faith healing, Jobs and Gods or the Devil’s?

        I pray that the Lord open the eyes of the blind that the body of Christ can fully utilize the artillery to their disposal.We have apostles,prophets,evangelists,teachers,pastors who perfom various acts as instructed by the holy spirit.Issue of anointing oil spoken in James 5vs14,is something that should be believed by those who believe in the wisdom of GOD.Pretty Xaba should visit Prophet Makandiwa,Prophet Angel,Apostle Vutabwashe and other great man of God in our midst.The believer is very right,@rwatidamakuwe:disqus well cancer is a spirit,sickness is an act of the devil,a dangerous demon and James 5vs14 is commanding every one who is sick from any disease including cancer to be prayed for by Elders of the church and anointed with oil.This is a spiritual transaction.As for the bulky of your opinion i understood that you have little knowledge on the Prophets.Joel 2vs28,Ephesians 4vs11 may assist you to understand that the Lord has called many ministers to fulfill his will to different audience of this earth.

        Rwatida Makuwe

        The verse gives a number of conditions i.e.

        1. is there anyone suffering he must pray;

        2. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises;

        3. Is there anyone who is sick he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

        Not all Prophets belonged to the same church Jesus had his own dispicles and followers; John had disciples and preached in the Wilderness; Zacharia father of John the Baptist was a Priest and served in the Temple yet his son preached in the wilderness. We do not follow people but God through different churches with different church leaders.

        I Corinthians 12:28 to 30 says, “And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”
