First Lady and Women’s League secretary Amai Grace Mugabe yesterday described President Mugabe as a God-given leader who was irreplaceable.

Speaking at the Million-Man March held in Harare yesterday, Amai Mugabe said the Women’s League was fully behind the visionary leader, who would be difficult to replace as the President of Zimbabwe.

“As the Women’s League, we are going to support you. Some want you to be life President, but we say you are irreplaceable to the Presidency.

“We will appoint you President even in your grave at the National Heroes Acre because you are our unifier. All the children gathered here have come to meet their beloved leader. The leader they respect,” she said.

Amai Mugabe said the Women’s League was happy with the leadership of President Mugabe.

“We are happy with your leadership. You are faithful before the Lord. Before you were even born, God knew you.

“You were set apart because God did not want you to mix and be contaminated by evil,” said Amai Mugabe.

When the country was first hit by economic sanctions, things were tough, but President Mugabe stuck to his word until Zimbabwe got economic independence.

“President, you are principled and consistent in your leadership and the people of Zimbabwe now know that you always stand for the truth,” said Amai Mugabe.

President Mugabe was hailed for championing the land reform programme and empowerment programmes.

“President Mugabe believes that independence without economic freedom and empowerment is not enough,” she said.

In side interviews at the same occasion, various political and traditional leaders showered accolades on President Mugabe.

Zanu-PF chairman for Masvingo Province Cde Amasa Nhenjana said his province was in total support of the President.

“We, as Masvingo Province, are behind President Mugabe and he remains our presidential candidate for the 2018 harmonised elections,” he said.

Cde Nhenjana described President Mugabe as a great statesman who has played an integral role in the development and emancipation of the people of Zimbabwe.

“President Mugabe built many schools, hospitals and clinics after independence.

“He has provided free education to many.

“He has given us our land and we are now an economically empowered nation. He is the best and we will always support him,” said Cde Nhenjana.

Headman Luke Gondo of Mahusekwa in Mashonaland East, said President was a brave, strong and fearless leader who has freed the nation from colonial bondage.
