as Speaker of the House of Assembly as a non-event.
Speaking after yesterday’s Ordinary Session of the Politburo in Harare, Zanu-PF spokesper-son Cde Rugare Gumbo said the election was decided when the two MDC formations joined forces.
“We did not discuss much about that election because it’s water under the bridge.
“We did not have the numbers and the election was decided when the two MDCs joined forces,” he said.
Cde Gumbo said the Politburo discussed the latest developments in the constitution-making process.
“Cde Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana briefed the Politburo on the constitution-making process which is on track.
“He told us that Copac received US$5 million from Government and a further US$4 million from the donor community.
“So we are happy that the process will be completed soon.”
Cde Gumbo said the Politburo deliberated on the indigenisation and economic empowerment drive that is set to be soon launched at provincial level. The party spokesperson said the Politburo also discussed internal administrative issues.
“We need to engage professionals and boost our staff,” he said.
