JOHANNESBURG.
Platinum Stars have moved to dismiss media speculation that Zimbabwean striker Terrence Mandaza had been released from the South African soccer club.
Reports suggested the 26-year-old’s contract had been terminated, but Dikwena general manager Jason Raine says this is false.
“Terrence’s contract is firmly in place and he remains very much a part of the club’s plans for the future,” Raine says.
Mandaza joined Stars from Botswana outfit Township Rollers in July 2010 and has made five appearances for the club so far, scoring on debut against AmaZulu in September.
However, the club has reached an agreement with veteran midfielder David Makgale to terminate his contract with immediate effect.
The 33-year-old joined in June 2010, before the appointment of current tactician Owen da Gama as coach, and has failed to make a single appearance for Stars.
“We would like to wish David all the best for the future as he takes his studies further and would like to thank him for the time he spent with the club,” Raine says. — KickOff.
