An upcoming gospel artiste Phineas Matanda has released his second album titled “Amazing God”. The nine track gospel album comprises of tracks that touches on spirituality issues and trials and tribulations that Christians across face. With an array of tracks featuring a number of gospel artistes, the album is already receiving good airplay from radio stations and in public places.The track “Amazing God” features seasoned gospel artists Sharon Manyonganise, , “Zita Rinesimba”, “Vemhuri Yangu” featuring Tinashe Mpambawashe and Forget Kaweyo, “Cherechedzai Zvamakaita”, Satan Tasa”, “Ndasarudza Kumutevera”, Great Exploits”, Kukura Pazera and “Washandura Order” which most gospel fans will find favourable.

The album was recorded and produced by the Voice of Thunder Studios and is already circulating in the streets and according to Matanda it has been well received well by the audiences.

“I am receiving a lot of applauds from audiences appreciating the album especially on the song ‘Amazing God’ which features Manyonganise of Zim Praise”, he said.

The song “Amazing God” was also fairly arranged and the lyrics are good. In the song, Matanda uses the Nigerian beat. Matanda was born and bred in Masvingo where he started singing at a tender age.

“I started singing in the school choir when I was at primary school and it continued to my secondary level and as you can see I’m still nurturing my passion.

Matanda started recording in 2014 when he released his first album “Great Exploit”.

The AFM cadre said, it is because of his Christian background that gave him the urge to preach the word of God through music as it can be easily understood and can reach a wider audience than any other genre.

Since he started singing Matanda has been performing in churches and hopes to take his music to another level

“I just pray that I go places with this music career because judging from the way the fans are accepting my album it gives me hope.

However the musician said financial challenges were threatening to derail his efforts to market his music and develop the project further.

“Money is a problem and it is also an obstacle amongst us as upcoming artiste. However I am happy that other prominent musicians like Rev Chivaviro have noticed my efforts. I will be participating at the Gamuchirai Magadzire’s album launch on July 8 and also during the Ebenezer celebrations, this would boost us as upcoming artists,” he said.
