Sungura musician Peter Moyo who was billed to perform at a charity show did not turn up over a misunderstanding with the show promoters.
The show which was themed “Soap and Shirt Festival” was meant to raise donations of clothes and groceries to the Tokwe-Mukosi flood victims at Chingwizi camp.

The event coordinator, Tarisai Jangara said Peter informed them on the day that he was not able to perform due to some disagreements with his band members.

“Initially Peter in his personal capacity had agreed to perform at the show but he told us on Saturday that he could not make it anymore.
“He said he had disagreed with his band members who wanted some money and other things as they have families to look after of which we never agreed to that considering that we wanted to raise donations,” she said.

When contacted the Young Igwe’s manager Sukosile Dube said the promoters had promised to give them fuel, accommodation allowances and food but failed to honour their promises.

“At first the event organisers had promised to offer us fuel, food and accommodation allowances but they later told us that this was for charity and could no longer provide us with those things.

“As a result our band members refused to come since they were not going to benefit anything from it,” he said.
Despite his absence, other artistes including the gospel couple Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba,Pastor G, Suluman Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah, Leonard Zhakata and Progress Chipfumo gave those who turned up a good time.
