LONDON. — Manuel Pellegrini could make an earlier departure from Manchester City than planned – unless results improve. Pellegrini will be replaced by Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola in the summer. But the Daily Star has been told that the position of City’s current boss is “under review.” There is concern among City’s hierarchy at the manner in which results have deteriorated since it was confirmed that Guardiola was replacing Pellegrini. And there are fears City won’t now finish in the top four to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The standard of performances are also a concern, highlighted by last Sunday’s home derby defeat against Manchester United. — The Daily Star.
