TALENTED gospel musician, Pax Gomo is set to break his long hiatus from the mainstream music scene when he launches his fifth album titled “Hwiba – Kwete Ndaramba” at Brilliant Foods Restaurant in Belgravia, Harare soon. The “Nyasha Dzichatisvitsa” hitmaker who some believe is a Charles Charamba copycat due to similarities in their voices last released an album,

“Ndomutenda Nei?” in 2011 which he recorded with corporate support from FC Platinum and the Forestry Commission.

Speaking about his long break, Gomo said:

“I was taking my time with the scriptures, trying to understand what God wanted me to speak to his people through music,” he said.

Gomo said the title of the album “Hwiba – Kwete Ndaramba” dwells much on the need for people not to be deterred by the challenges they face in life.

“People have been asking  whether I am still around in music circles, but the truth is that I am still alive and kicking and by saying ‘Hwiba – Kwete Ndaramba’,
“I am saying nothing should stand in my way and I refuse to be discouraged by anything, and this is the same spirit that everyone should adopt in life,” Gomo said.

The 10-track album is set to cause a stir with its songs like the title track, “Hwiba”, which talks about how the devil can claim everything in one’s life but not the relationship with Jesus Christ.

“Hatidzokere Takadaro” is powerful in the way that it urges people not to lose their morals wherever they go, while “Ko Munhu Chii?” further takes this message to another level by explaining why God chose to send His son Jesus Christ on earth to deliver humanity because they were created in His own image.

“Moyo Wangu Unoshuva Makwara Evhangeri”, “Saka Ndawana Nyasha”, “Ndokutendai Jehovha”, “Icho Nechocho” and “Zvatinoti Tinomuziva” make up the playlist.

Gomo said the launch will also serve as a platform to unleash upcoming talents that he has been  nurturing.

“We are also going to unveil 10 new artistes who are under our mentorship programme called Pad Arts, under which we groom artistes and a good number of them are products of the Star Brite programme.

“We are grateful to the corporate support we received.  This alone is clear testimony to how the corporate world is rallying behind artistes, and together they are doing a great job and other should take a leaf from them,” Gomo said.

The launch will also see the artiste playing some of his songs taken off his previous albums, “Nyasha Dzichatisvitsa” (2003), “Pakutanga Mwari” (2004), “Ndirege Ndiende” (2006) and “Amen – Topona” (2009).
