Services Department has said.
The rainy season normally commences in mid-November.

Senior meteorological officer Mr Jonathan Chifuna said the temperatures dropped slightly yesterday with some areas receiving light showers.
Harare recorded 33 degrees Celsius, Bulawayo 32, Gweru 35, Mutare 31, Kwekwe 37, Kadoma 38 and Masvingo 34.
All these places had recorded higher temperatures on Wednesday.

Mr Chifuna said Masvingo, Bulawayo, Chivhu and Plumtree received light showers.
In its seasonal forecast, the Met Department said in the first half of the season, some areas were expecting normal rains with a bias towards below normal rainfall.
Areas in Region 1 comprise Mashonaland provinces, Harare, northeastern parts of Manicaland Province and Matabeleland North Province.
Region 2 and 3 areas such as Matabeleland South, Masvingo, the bulk of the Midlands and extreme southern parts of Matabeleland South province are expected to receive below normal to normal rainfall during the first half of the season.

During the second half of the season (January, February and March), Region 1 is expected to have normal rains with a bias towards above normal.
Regions 2 and 3 are expected to receive above normal rains with a bias towards normal rains and tropical cyclones may occur during this period.

Given the expected normal to below normal rains for the whole country in the first half of the season, the chances of having a late start to the season are high.
