Davido show organiser Partson Chimbodza has dismissed as baseless criticism by some fans who attended the show that they were ripped off. There was an outcry at the Nigerian singer’s show held during the weekend at Belgravia Sports Club, with fans complaining that they were over charged.

Revellers were unhappy that those who had paid $10 and $20 were all herded into the same place with no distinction for those who had paid more. Partson Chimbodza said: “I don’t know why the fans are complaining, the prices of the tickets ran from $10, $15 and $50 for the VIP, those who had to part away with their $20 was because they were buying the tickets at the entrance, if they had bought their tickets earlier nothing of that sort could have happened,” Chimbodza said.

The hardest hit were those looking for the cheapest ticket who had to pay $20 at the gate. Although the show was well attended and the local acts aquitted themselves well, the main act did not live up to expectations. Local artistes were the ones who lit the show more than the expected Davido and these include Trevor D and Roki.

“How can he come here and play us discs? We were not expecting such kind of performance from a person like him. He could only sing a few words and the rest was through the disc. It’s so disappointing,” said a fan identified as Armstrong. Davido’s decision to only play for an hour also did not go down well with the crowd that expected more from him.
