Rap’s reigning princess Nicki Minaj has been doing the rounds ahead of the release of her latest LP, “The Pinkprint’’, and while she was at it the ‘‘Pills N Potions’’ star made a surprising revelation about her latest ‘‘floor-filler’’, ‘‘Anaconda’’ during an interview with Complex magazine … During the cover shoot, Minaj addressed comparisons of her latest album to Jay-Z’s 2001 classic, The Blueprint and also explained that her breakout track ‘‘Anaconda’’ actually came about as a joke in the studio.

When quizzed about her album title, the singer addressed comparisons to The Blueprint, saying: “It’s not that literal.

“People keep asking me about Jay’s ‘The Blueprint’ and they think I’m doing something like that.”

“I made reference to it because Jay is the biggest rapper of our time. The name of the album was inspired by Jay but not the body of work.

“I do think that it’s going to create new rules, though, in the way that (‘The Blueprint’ did).”

Speaking of ‘‘Anaconda’’, the 2014 MTV EMA host added: “I wanted to create a song that embraced curvy women … I wanted to be sexual but be playful with it.

“That whole song, I was just being dumb. It was a joke.”- MTVBase.
