LONDON. – Paris Saint-Germain are paying Neymar more than £600 000 per week according to leaked documents shown in German publication Der Spiegel.

The Brazilian forward became the most expensive player in football history when he move from Barcelona to the French capital in a £198 million deal, and his wages reportedly match the exorbitant fee.

The leaked documents suggest his five-year PSG contract is worth £32 million per year, which works out at more than £88 000 per day for his services.

The 25-year-old has looked the part for PSG since making his debut against Guingamp, and played a starring role in their 5-0 thrashing of Celtic in the Champions League.

If true, Neymar’s purported salary would put him very close to Carlos Tevez as the highest-paid player in the world. The former Manchester City striker now plies his trade for Shanghai Shenhua in China.

Neymar was involved in an on-pitch argument with Edinson Cavani over who would take a take in PSG’s Ligue 1 victory over Lyon.

Cavani took the spot-kick and missed, and the row continued in the dressing room with Dani Alves rushing to his international teammates defence.

According to reports in Spain, Neymar has since apologised to his teammates for his behaviour while capatin Thiago Silva has brokered the peace.

Neymar was absent on Saturday with a foot injury, as PSG dropped their first points of the season in a 0-0 draw away at Montpellier. – The Telegraph.
