BARCELONA. — Neymar has hailed new team-mate Lionel Messi as the planet’s greatest player and insisted he is at the club to support the Argentine. The Brazilian made his debut for the club this week following his £50million move from hometown club Santos, and looked right at home during a 15-minute cameo. There has been much talk about how the extravagantly skilled forward would fit into the team of superstars, but the 21-year-old insists it has been an enjoyable learning curve so far.

“My relationship with Messi is wonderful, he’s a great person,’ he told a news conference yesterday.
“He’s a leader, the best player in the world, and I am here to help.

“I’m here to help all my team-mates, be it with passes or with goals,’
“The atmosphere in the team is wonderful. I’m living a dream. I turn my head and I see Messi, Xavi, Iniesta or Puyol. There is Pedro, Tello and Alexis, all great players, fast, smart. That’s why they play for Barca.

“I try to speak with everyone, but the players I’m talking with the most are Dani Alves, Adriano, Messi, Pinto and Xavi. “Playing with Barca is a wonderful feeling, it means my childhood dream turning into reality.

I’m more than happy.” Neymar will make his Nou Camp bow tonight night when his former club are in town for the Joan Gamper Trophy. — Mailonline.
