A NEW online television comedy show is set to give Zimbabwean viewers something to laugh about this festive season. Titled “Hezvo!”, the show seeks to bring funny home video clips and images from ordinary Zimbabweans to the world via You- Tube or Facebook platforms.Executive producer of the show Nico Abote says the purpose of the series is to provide lighter moments for ordinary people in Zimbabwe as well as connecting them to fellow countrymen abroad.

“We aim to provide a humorous interaction between Zimbabwean people everywhere as they share their funny moments and discover how they possess similar traits and quirks.

“So far the Hezvo! TV site has posted several short video clips on Facebook including a performance in Harare’s First Street by Tinashe Makura which was viewed by more than 23 000 people and generated a lot of interest and feedback. We will be giving away prizes to those funny contributions which receive popular support,” Abote said.

The show is currently looking for presenters as more videos are being sent in from as far as Europe and the viewership continues to increase.

“The 10-minute weekly programme will be run online on YouTube channel as well as on ZimboJam Jamtv-+ site for the convenience of all Zimbabweans regardless of where they are in the world,” he said.

Benefits of comedy include reduction of stress, peace of mind as well as improved breathing due to the exercise of the lungs during laughter.

Online TV broadcasting is a growing trend worldwide as more people turn to the internet for their entertainment and information requirements.
