Rising gospel musician Chipo Chipwanyira believes her debut album “Emmanuel” has opened doors for her career. Chapwanyira who launched the album recently in the capital said a number of gospel artistes have shown interest in working with her. “I thought I was doing this just for the sake of praising and worshipping the Lord but surprisingly a number of artistes have shown their interest in working with me,” she said.
Some of the artistes she has worked with include Blessing Shumba, Mathias Mhere and Bethen Pasinawako.

The Kwekwe-based singer said she was impressed with the warm reception her album is receiving and has started working on videos.
“I was overwhelmed with the way my music has been accepted with the few people that I have performed for demanding a video album which we are now working on. I have done two videos so far and hopefully by the end of August the DVD will be ready,” she said.

The 18-year-old singer dropped her sizzling seven-track album in May this year and her songs have been receiving fair airplay on most radio stations.

Some of the tracks on the album include “Emmanuel”, “Mhuri Yekwedu”, “Ndichamurumbidza”, “Zvandaitaura”, “Mweya Mutsvene” and “Jesu Wangu”.

Chipo said her music is drawn from social issues that affect people every day.
“My music is inspired by things that I see happening around me. They all show the glory of God, how he is able to provide for his people and what he has been doing in my life,” she said.

Chipo started her musical career in 2012 and she began as a curtain raiser for Shumba.
She is a lower 6 student at Camelot High School in Kwekwe and aspires to be an established singer in the next few years.
