New film starring popular dancehall musician George “Jiggaz” Tanjani titled “The Funeral” will on Sunday hit the streets. The film that has other top actors in the country is set to give people refreshing and exiting moments. According to the film director Jasen Mphepo the production explores how people use tricks to earn a living.The story is about Bonjwani (played by Nash Mphepo) and Mtombeni (Tanjani) who are friends and neighbours.

When Bonjwani’s child dies he hires a man to illegally connect electricity from Mtombeni’s house without any agreement.

“Mtombeni then decides to cut the friendship and punish Bonjwani in various ways until the latter comes for reconciliation,” said Mphepo.

He said they will be selling the movie in different parts of the city that include Glen view, Glen Norah, Chitungwiza, Epworth, Mabvuku, Kuwadzana, Budiriro, Mufakose, Highfield and Mbare.

“We will be having road shows as well as having the two guys performing some of the skits from the film. We want people to understand what it is all about.”

He urged the public to promote the film industry by buying original CDs.

“Film industry needs public support and they should buy original material. We will not be doing any good for the industry if we fail to give it support, so people should go for the original CDs.”

“We also have people that will be selling at different points in the country.

‘‘Sometime making the product available to the people can reduce annoying levels of piracy in the country,” he said.

They will be releasing several films on monthly bases.

“We have several other works that are in store and we hope to release them starting next month,” he said.
