Urban grooves musician Ernest Manandi popularly known as Nesto in the music circles launched a classic video for his single Ngalangala at the Ambassador Hotel in the capital over the weekend. Fellow artistes, including Cindy Munyavi, the P.O Box crew, Discord, Roki and Doc Vikela who was the master of ceremony, converged to support their colleague. His brother, television and radio personality Barry Manandi also graced the event.

Speaking at the launch, Nesto apologised for the delay in the release of the video saying that finances have been tight.

“It is true that the song “Ngalangala” was a hit last year and we also wanted to release the video earlier but resources were not easy to come by and as you all know as a person sometimes there is something that catches you along the way and might delay other things,” he said.

Asked if the single was marking his comeback on the entertainment scene, the “My Chocolate” hit-maker said he was always in the industry but was just not making noise.

“Nesto never went way, I was always there just that I was doing something in the entertainment circles but was not making loud noise but I can safely say now I am back to make a mark on the entertainment scene,” he said.

Nyasha Manamike of Khalfani Motion, the company that produced the video, said the video was shot in Marondera Svosve communal lands and Mandara.

“It took us three days to shoot the video and it was shot at Svosve village in Marondera before coming back to Harare in Mandara.

“In a bid to break the regional market we found out that it would have been criminal not to have provided high quality visuals to accompany a unique brand of sound from the musician,” he said.

The video features former Miss Zimbabwe 2014 Catherine Makaya, Roquiford Josphat and producer-cum-singer Squash.

Meanwhile, Nesto also took the opportunity to launch another single, “Jecha”, a celebratory afro-house which Nesto encourages the listener to get on their feet and dance praising the master of creation for his blessings.
