ZIMBABWE international Tendai Ndoro might have to wait until the new year before he can kick a ball for his South African side Mpumalanga Black Aces as the striker’s clearance papers missed the deadline of the Absa Premiership soccer transfer window.
Ndoro joined Aces last month from Chicken Inn on a one-year contract but has been on the sidelines for the first five games since he has not been registered. Zifa Communications Manager, Xolisani Gwesela, yesterday confirmed that Mpumalanga missed the South African transfer deadline and can only be able to register the player when the second window opens in January.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation that all transfers and registration of players are processed within the transfer window period. This is in adherence to Annex 3.1 of Fifa regulations which governs the transfer and registration of players and it states that, “All applications to register a professional must be submitted by the new club to the new association during one of the registration periods established by that Association.”

“Consequently, the transfer of player, Tendai Ndoro was not processed because South Africa Football Association’s transfer window period had closed on the 2nd of September 2013. Chicken inn FC entered the transfer instruction into the Transfer Matching System (TMS) on the 13th of September 2013.

“We would like the football fraternity to kindly note that the player, Tendai Ndoro, can only be transferred to Mpumalanga Black Aces FC during the second SAFA transfer window period which opens on the 1st January 2014 and closes on the 31st of January 2014,” said Gwesela.
Ndoro, who started the year on a high note with Chicken Inn in the domestic Castle Lager Premiership, had been touted by Mpumalanga Black Aces as the perfect acquisition to beef-up their strikeforce.

The Warriors striker, whose tally is still the leading scorer in the domestic Premiership, had banged in 11 goals half-way through the season when he was courted by the South African club.

Chicken Inn chairman, Lifa Ncube, said they are now exploring ways to see if they can accommodate the player until the end of the season to keep him match-fit before he can be cleared to play in the Absa Premiership in January.

“I don’t know what exactly happened there because the documents were sent on August 30, seeing that the transfer window deadline was a few days away. Probably there could have been some delays by the club (Mpumalanga) and I think the system rejected his registration because of that.

“Right now Tendai is in Mpumalanga and I am not sure if he can come back and play for us until the end of the season,” said Ncube.
