IN A bid to bolster their technical department ahead of the 2016 Premiership season, Dynamos have told their coach Tonderai Ndiraya to look for his assistant and boost his backroom staff.

The youthful mentor is set to remain in charge of the Glamour Boys despite failing to win any silverware last season when he guided the country’s biggest football club.

And, yesterday ahead of the club’s executive meeting this Thursday in Harare, Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa said they have since advised Ndiraya that he is going nowhere and he should rather beef up his technical department.

The backroom staff has Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi, who doubled as assistant coach and goalkeepers’ coach, and team manager Richard Chihoro.

“As you are aware, Ndiraya was working alone and so we are looking for an assistant coach. When we put him in charge it was until December 31 but we would want him to continue and we don’t have plans to hire another coach.

“He should start his pre-season with the club on January 18.

“We are planning to have our executive meeting either this Thursday or Friday and afterwards we will then call the technical team before we report to the board.

“This would be our first meeting this year, to map the way forward and review the season and address all the issues,” said Mubaiwa.

The Dynamos boss said they are hoping to have the general meeting which will culminate in the start of a fresh season after the club finished in second place in the championship race last season.

Mubaiwa believes they can win the league title again this year.

“We have become used to winning the league trophy year-in-and-year-out and we are looking forward to doing that again,” said Mubaiwa.

The Harare businessman said the good thing is that they have also not lost many players during this off season period.

“So at the moment we are looking for a central defender, anchorman and a goalkeeper and maybe we can also add a striker to our squad and we will be good,” said Mubaiwa.

They have signed midfielder Tichaona Chipunza from Triangle.
