TONDERAI NDIRAYA says it’s game on despite his men dropping crucial points on the road, again, following a shock defeat at the hands of Shabanie at Maglas.

Ngezi Platinum Stars crashed to a 0-1 defeat in Zvishavane just two weeks after being soundly beaten by CAPS United away from home.

“We are worried that we dropped points. “We didn’t want to drop points, but away from home it is always difficult. Shabanie had done their homework, they had lost some games, so they were prepared for the game,” said Ndiraya.

“My boys struggled with the pitch, their normal play couldn’t come out. “The pitch is in bad shape and the goal we conceded, was poor, our defence was caught unaware.

“It is not an excuse, Shabanie played well, it was their day and well done to them. “Going forward, we are not burying our heads in the sand. We are already looking to the next game, against Harare City.”

Ndiraya believes the time has now come when boys are separated from men. “The top three teams have been very consistent, particularly in the last five games. So we are also looking for that confidence and consistency. We still have 30 points to play for and that is quite a huge number of points.

“The consistent team in the last 10 games will win the trophy,” said Ndiraya. Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa says there is tough competition in the championship race. The Glamour Boys face Highlanders at Rufaro on Sunday.

Other title-chasing teams — leaders Chicken Inn and FC Platinum — also pocketed maximum points this weekend. “You look at Chicken Inn, they have seasoned players within their ranks and a great coach in Rahman Gumbo, you look at FC Platinum they have been in the mix, and they have been there before coming second, third in a number of seasons.

“They are seasoned campaigners.

“You look at Ngezi, they are up there as well, so it is game on,” said Mutasa.
