TINASHE Mwadziwanza is looking forward to win the Zimbabwe super-bantamweight title fight against Tinashe Mutodza when they meet in the main boxing bout of the King of the Ring Ghetto Explosion Part One scheduled for Mbare Netball Complex this Saturday.

Mwadziwanza said he is looking forward to a tough fight but has been working hard since the bout was confirmed early this month. The 29-year-old pugilist believes he has been doing enough in the gym and can’t wait to walk into the ring on Saturday.

“I have been training hard and I received a lot of support from my trainer and it will be the first time to fight against my opponent so it is an opportunity to see who is better. The fight come at the right time as we are not having much title fights here at home. Most of the time we fight outside the country in Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi so it will be good to give the home fans a good match.

“I have a schedule which I followed religiously and was watching my weight as well. It will my first fight against Mutodza so that gives me the need to prepare much,” said Mwadziwanza.

But Mutodza, who has fought a few professional fights, believes he cannot let the title evade him and will need to beat Mwandiwanza in his own backyard. Mutodza has eight fights (five wins and three loses).

“I don’t think nothing will stop me from winning this title. I have worked hard and it is difficult to lose another match after I was defeated through a points decision in my last fight at the Rainbow Towers in August. I have improved a lot as a professional both technically and experience so I am looking forward to the fight. I just know my opponent as an experienced boxer but that should not make me fear him I will only respect him.

The fight is going to be interesting as he will be under pressure from his fans who I know will come out in their numbers,” said Mutodza.

Former Commonwealth flyweight champion Arifonso “Mosquito” Zvenyika is expected to grace the occasion which will also have musician Blot as the entertainer. The country last hosted a tournament of this magnitude some 13-years ago and every boxing enthusiast is looking forward to the day.

Saturday’s tournament is being promoted by Clied Musonda who recently received a major boost when his academy, Delta Force, was handed a boxing ring and some gloves by their sponsor Gypsite Electrical Contractors.

The ring, imported from South Africa, will see Musonda holding several tournaments starting with King of the Ring Ghetto Explosion to be held at Mbare Netball Complex on Saturday. The tournament will have a battle between Mwadziwanza and Mutodza in the Zimbabwe super-bantamweight title fight as the main bout.

Saturday’s event is being organised by Delta Force Academy who have partnered Gypsite, Topteam, Youth Against Drugs as well as No Pain No Gain among several others.
