BOOTED OUT . . . Masimba Dinyero has been shown the exit door at FC Platinum after falling out with Lloyd Mutasa

LLOYD “Samaita”Mutasa has parted ways with his long-time friend and trusted lieutenant, Masimba Dinyero, after the FC Platinum coach recommended to the club chiefs that his assistant be relieved of his duties.
Mutasa and Dinyero have since their playing days at Dynamos seen their friendship grow and they have literally worked together at every club that the former has coached.

But yesterday, that partnership came to an end after Dinyero was shown the door, after sensational fallout with Mutasa.

FC Platinum confirmed the developments in a statement released by the club’s president George Mawere.

“Following FC Platinum winning of the 2014 edition of the Independence cup the club presidency and executive management would like to convey heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to its supporters across the country who stood with the team during the match against defending champions Dynamos Football Club and many admirers who continue to send messages of support.

“Meanwhile and in fulfilment of the mission for FC Platinum to compete effectively for all silverware, head coach Lloyd Mutasa, has advised the executive management of an immediate reshuffle of his technical bench, where a mutual separation has been agreed with Masimba Dinyero and a new assistant coach will be announced once he has finalised his selection from his pool of candidates,’ said Mawere.

An emotional Dinyero also confirmed that he had parted ways with the club he joined last season and there are strong indications that Ralph Kawondera could replace him in that role. “I have to go and start another chapter and life must go on. I wish FC Platinum all the best in 2014 and I will always be behind the team we rebuilt. They have to keep on working hard”, said Dinyero.

Mutasa also spoke about the developments.

“I have parted ways with Masimba not because we are enemies but it was for professional reasons. It has been nice working with him and I have learnt a lot from him. In life we meet to part and part to meet and as long we are still living we will meet again and join hands,’’ Mutasa said.

Mutasa also opened up a bit on the reasons for his decision and alleged that Dinyero had failed to perform to expectations.

“Our job is results-oriented and ‘hapazoda chisahwira pabasa. I have a son playing for Platinum and if I include him in the team because I favour him it will tarnish my job and lose out but he has to justify his inclusion by working hard.

“People should respect the line of authority and I think he was lagging behind. I do not want to open up much but I did not get what I was expecting from him,” Mutasa said.
Their partnership grew at the turn of the millennium when they were offloaded by Moses Chunga from Dynamos to pave way for the Kidznet project.

They joined Sporting Lions where Joe Mugabe was the co-coach with Mutasa and Dinyero the team manager.

The two were to work together at Flame Lily, Highway, Kiglon and Dynamos. When Mutasa joined FC Platinum last season, when results were not coming he first worked with Tendai Chikuni before roping in Dinyero.

Mutasa has, however, retained kit manager Emmanuel “Mayaya” Chapeza, goalkeepers coach Daniel Khumalo, fitness trainer Ndavayizwe Ncube and team manager Joseph Mususa.

FC Platinum will host CAPS United on Saturday and already, hopes are high that a positive result could be found.
