Several musicians and DJs unite for the second edition of the Summer Pork and Musical Festival to be held at Ice and Fire Pamuzinda next week.

The festival is being organised by The Swine Company that is based in Chivhu where the inaugural event was held last year.

The two-day festival that begins on August 21 and ends on August 22 will see musicians including Suluman Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah, Tocky Vibes and Peter Moyo performing while DJs Phatisani Sibanda, Lionel Mnkandla and Godfrey Gweje will grace the event.

Swine Company marketing manager Jackie Gwangwadza said they have decided to have a bigger event in the capital.

“We have decided to have a bigger event and here in the capital because of the response. We are hoping that people will come and enjoy it,” she said.

She said it will be a fun filled weekend as children will be entertained by several activities.

“We have lined up several activities such as jumping castles, pony rides, a mini pen of live pigs for their entertainment and several activities for them.”

On the afternoon of August 22 musicians will have the chance to meet fans as they would be having braai in a social event.

Musicians who spoke to this publication yesterday said they were geared up for the event.

Joe Nyamungoma who is Chimbetu’s publicist said they are always been prepared for the show.

“We are always prepared for every event and as usual we always work hard to please our fans,” he said.

Moyo who is in the studio working on a new album said it was an opportunity to unveil some of the songs.

“We are having our album launched at 7Arts in September and this is a great opportunity to give our fans what we have in store,” he said.
