Rising Afro-jazz musician Prince Musarurwa who hogged the limelight when he featured on Pah Chihera’s “Runonzi Rudo” is set to release an album this month.
Musarurwa is currently enjoying the fruits of his previous album “Gogodera” which has been well received with the title track’s video having been one of ZBC’s top videos for more than a month.
In an interview, Musarurwa said the overwhelming response “Gogodera” has received had pushed him to release another album.
“Runonzi Rudo’ introduced me to limelight and when I did ‘Gogodera’ people realised the talent in me and I have been receiving numerous calls from fans from all over the country asking me to release another album. I just want to be consistent and I am currently putting final touches that by the end of this week I will be done,” Musarurwa said.

Musarurwa said the new album entitled “Chiga Chikuru” will carry 10 tracks most of which were influenced by what happens in society every day.
“On most of my songs I am trying to tackle some societal problems, I am basically encouraging people to be united, to do away with deceit, lies, I am just calling for people to do away with the pull him/her down syndrome and like always there will be  one or two love songs,” he said.

On the new album, Musarurwa features Ugandan musician Daisy Ejang on the song “I Must Stick With You”, which was recorded in Uganda.
Prince is grandson to yesteryear local great musician Augustine Musarurwa of the Skokiaan hit fame.

He is also known for the six-track album titled “Gara Muberevere” which was frequently played on local radio stations.
The album, which is loaded with scintillating afro-jazz songs, is an epitome of a talented young musician whose touch convinces listeners that he is indeed from a music family and his new album “Chiga Chikuru” will be his fifth.
