himself at the City Sport Centre.
Munya, as he is popularly known, is a protégé of veteran Oliver Mtukudzi and seemed to have mastered the ropes in the music circles.

Matarutse is one of the shining examples of musicians that were trained at Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre.

He has been in his master’s shadow on many occasions, performing as a curtain-raiser at most of his shows and seeking advice on most of his projects.

The way Matarutse and Mtukudzi’s voices blend on the former’s song titled Hondo is testimony to the strong student-teacher relationship they have.

Born in1988 at Norton Hospital, Matarutse attended Chiedza Primary School in Norton before going to St Joseph High School in Zaka.

He plays with Kazevezeve, which he formed in 2005 at Pakare Paye Arts Centre and is managed by Tuku.
