All is set for award winning gospel artiste Mudiwa Mtandwa’s second album launch to be held at Eastgate Ster Kinekor tonight. The album entitled, “Mwana WaMambo NdiMambo”, has 16 tracks with different genres such as hip-hop, Afro pop, Niger beat and R’n’B among others. In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Mudiwa who is affectionately known as Mudiwa-Hood by his fans said he was ready for the launch. “This is my time to shine. The new second album is a masterpiece and has a different approach to gospel music. I am still the people’s Mudiwa and nothing has changed. I have been preparing for the launch for the past two months and we ready,” he said.

Mudiwa said he had written most of the songs on the album.

He said was inspired by some societal settings although he owes his inspiration to God.

“My album is based on the Bible and takes its theme from John 10 verse 34. I wrote most of the songs and was inspired by what I see. God is my leader and each song has a true meaning which can relate to people’s lifestyles. It is much of a positive confession and given a chance fans can use it as a motivator, as you know music is also a source of preaching. Some of the tracks to look forward too are ‘Mwana WaMambo’, ‘I no go Fall’, ‘Number One’ and the popular ‘Shinga’, which features Nox Guni. ‘Shinga’ is already making airwaves on radio stations and currently one of the national anthems at parties,” he said.

However, Mudiwa who has 13 awards to date said the launch will see top socialites and dignitaries gracing the occasion.

“I can say it’s a star-studded event and we have a red carpet moments for those coming. My guests of honour are Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Supa Mandiwanzira, Apostle Batsirayi Java and business tycoon Dr Phillip Chiyangwa among others. Invites have already been sent and some of the notable celebrities who have confirmed are Trevor Dongo, Sabastian Magacha, Tembalami, Prime Minister, L4Him, Shingi Mau Mau and Nowizz,” he said.

Mudiwa said he will perform two songs from the coming album.

“I can’t shed much light on the programme but fans will have value for their money at the launch and believe you me there is a surprise on the night. I am going to perform one or two songs, from the album. I didn’t want to perform like how some prominent international artists do. I have surprises guests who I will share the stage with,” he said.

The musician is expected to go on tour to market the album starting next month and he will also shoot some of the videos for the songs.
