Increase Gumbo in Mwenezi
Zanu-PF Mwenezi East legislator Cde Joosby Omar, who won resoundingly in a by-election held in April this year, has launched massive development projects in the constituency in fulfilment of his campaign promises. The by-election was held following the death of Cde Joshua Moyo in December last year. Cde Omar is on record, after his victory, saying that his work to develop Mwenezi started on the day of his election.

In an interview, Cde Omar said he was setting his sight on achieving his goals as the local legislator.

“Of course I was quiet, but it does not mean that I had neglected my constituency. It’s only that I was busy planning and I am yet to reveal my projects,” he said.

The legislator said he will officially launch the projects on September 23 this year.

“I have so far fulfilled many projects.

“I am busy constructing a bakery here called Food for Africa. It would be the first of its kind here in Mewenezi.

“I have injected more than $50 000 towards the project and more than 20 people will be employed which is part of my five year plan to create employment to the locals,” he said.

Cde Omar said he was also constructing a fruit and vegetables wholesale market for vendors who have had to endure long distances to as far as Harare to get vegetables.

Cde Omar said although he has not received funding from Government, he was ready to use his coffers to change the face of Mwenezi.

More than 5 000 delegates from across the province and Zimbabwe in general are expected to attend the launch of the projects later this month.
