JUNIOR Sportsperson of the Year Tanya Muzinda, in collaboration with Dominion Innovative Créations, will today have brunch at Harare Children’s Hospital as part of her ambassadorial roles since her appointment as the latter’s ambassador in November.

Muzinda had a fruitful year, winning the Zimbabwe International Women Awards’ (ZIWA) Sportswoman of the Year Award in Birmingham, England, in October before she won a double at the Annual National Sports Awards banquet when she was crowned the Junior Sportsperson of the Year and Junior Sportswoman of the Year.

She was in November appointed the ambassador for Dominion Innovative Créations and today she will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with some of the kids at Harare Central Hospital as she takes a break from the motocross race track.

The partnership between Team Tanya and Dominion Innovative Créations, who are now her branding company, will see the young female motocross rider being involved in charity work under their banner including the “Thrive Beyond Illness Campaign” for 2016. Muzinda’s father, Tawanda, said Dominion Innovative Créations and GBI Business Hub are the main sponsors of today’s function with a number of activities lined up for the day.

“The activities for the day include brunch at the children’s hospital in a ward yet to be confirmed by the hospital based on their census, gift sharing with some paediatric patients, families and staff. A video from well-wishers around the world has been put together and will be shared with the children.

“It’s really a gesture of spending time with the most vulnerable in our society who are the sick kids at one of the largest community children’s hospitals in the country which is part of efforts of the ‘Thrive Beyond Illness Campaign’.

“She is now the ambassador for the company and there will be other projects for charity and will be done under that banner. We will be helping people in hospitals starting with Mabvuku in January. People will be meeting Tanya, children that are not feeling well and those in schools, that’s our campaign.

“This opportunity will bring more visibility to both the hospital and Team Tanya within our community and internationally,” said Tawanda.

Dominion Innovative Créations chief executive Philipa Sibanda said with Tanya being a global brand they believe she can be an inspiration to the children and added that there will be more activities in the future involving the 11-year-old motocross rider.

“We are just starting the journey with this brunch but our intention is to look at some other social issues we have.

“We are looking at their goals (the hospital) also, what they are pushing for and see if Tanya can inspire those kids.
