The training is aimed at equipping permanent secretaries, principal directors and directors with requisite knowledge and skills vital in the discharge of their duties.
The office of the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet organised the training.
Addressing participants at the workshop, which started in Harare yesterday, Deputy Chief Secretary responsible for Modernisation, Finance and Administration Dr Ray Ndhlukula, said the training was necessitated by the gaps that were witnessed following the formation of the inclusive government.
“The purpose of this training is to equip you with knowledge and skills of how you should operate.
“The formation of the inclusive government resulted in some officials without the requisite government experience being appointed into senior positions. Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet (Dr Misheck Sibanda) then noticed some skills gaps so he deemed it necessary to fully equip them.
“The objective is to remind them of their duties.
“Dr Sibanda then engaged Esami to help with training which resulted in a memorandum of understanding being signed between the Government of Zimbabwe and Esami,” said Dr Ndhlukula.
He added that the purpose of the training was to enhance capacity of senior management.
Dr Sibanda is expected to officially open the three-day workshop tomorrow.
