Conrad Mupesa in MHANGURA
ZANU-PF candidates in Mhangura aspiring for any position in the party including the December Congress and 2018 harmonised elections should stop campaigning until they are given the green light to do so, legislator Dr Douglas Mombeshora has said. Speaking after his nomination for a Central Committee position unopposed yesterday, Cde Mombeshora said all party cadres should abide by the party rules.

“In Zanu-PF it is not allowed to embark on any political campaign for any post without a nod from the Secretary for Administration, Cde Ignatius Chombo.

“As Zanu-PF we do everything by the party’s constitution hence embarking on campaigns should be sanctioned by the party first,” Dr Mombeshora said. Mhangura constituency chairpersons nominated Dr Mombeshora to the Central Committee. Dr Mombeshora was re-elected unopposed after Ward 3 councilor Mrs Scholastic Matigi proposed his name and it was subsequently seconded by Kapako district chairperson Cde Livingstone Ka- mbanje. All the 78 chairpersons from the three main wings in Mhangura constituency endorsed Dr Mombeshora as a Central Committee member. Dr Mombeshora said his re-election showed that the party members still had faith in him.
