Award winning Afro fusion band, Mokoomba will rekindle their performances tonight at the Book Cafe where they will she are stage with the rising group Were.
The two bands that are exceptional in their own rights will for the first time for stage a show together that promises to be thriller.

Mokoomba’s band manager, Marcus Gora said they are excited to share some notes with the band that is following in their footsteps.

“This is a great thing for us to work together with our other upcoming artistes and its helps our genre to get more recognition in our music industry.

“Such opportunities allow us as musicians to network and exchange notes,” he said.

Gora said the show is also meant to celebrate their victory at the just ended Zimbabwe Music Awards.

The most popular touring outfit won the Best International Achiever award.

“The show will also be like a celebration party for winning an award at ZIMA on Wednesday night and above everything we just want to salute our fans for their unwavering support,” he said.

The group has also been touring in some regional and international festivals.

Mokoomba bagged home International Artist of the Year award at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards held in London few months ago.

The youthful group is popularly known for their tracks such as “Mangongo”, “Misozi”, “Mvula”, “Welelye”, “Manunge” and “Nyaradzo”.

The group rose to national fame by winning a string of competitions laid on by Music Crossroads International – a non-profit organisation that supports musical education throughout Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.

On another hand, Were is one of the afro fusion groups making an impact in the country and last year they were crowned the International Imagine winners.
