Afro-fusion group Mokoomba will sample some new songs tonight when they perform at the Book Cafe.
The group’s manager Marcus Gora said they have plans to release two projects this year. “Every concert that we do is different and were constantly introducing new concepts. We have new tracks that we will be sampling but we do not have a new CD yet.

“We are currently working patiently to create and record new material.  We are working on two recording projects, an acoustic CD and an afro-fusion album which will be a follow-up to our last album ‘Rising Tide,” he said.

He said they were happy with the response they got for the current album “Rising Tide”.

“We usually take our time in preparing albums and we are happy that the response to the current one was overwhelming,” he said.

The gig, which is being organised by Jive Zimbabwe, which has adopted a “no poster” initiative by Minister of Environment, Water and Climate Saviour Kasukuwere that encourages musicians to stop sticking posters around the city. Jive Zimbabwe director Benjy Nyandoro said they were using several social media platforms to market the gig.

“From now onwards we will only use different social media platforms to market the gig and there will be no posters for the show,” he said.
