Just days before Maria Jose Alvarado was supposed to fly to London for Miss World pageant, she and her sister mysteriously disappeared on November 13.
Police have questioned six people regarding their strange disappearance. Maria Jose Alvarado (19) was set to fly to London to compete in Miss World pageant on December 14, but she and sister Sofia Trinidad (23) disappeared.
Maria, who was crowned Miss Honduras in April, was last seen with her sister at a spa in Santa Barbara.
They have not been seen or heard from since.

Police originally detained six men, but have released a few of them as they continue to search for evidence of the disappearance, according to ABC.
One of the men being held for questioning is Sofia’s boyfriend, Plutarco Ruiz.

Maria and Sofia were last seen at a spa 300 kilometres west of Tegucigalpa, where they went to celebrate Plutarco’s birthday.
Another man being questioned is the business owner of the place the girls were last seen, where the sisters reportedly stepped into a vehicle shortly after and disappeared, AP reports.

“Witnesses said my daughter left the spa with three men,” Maria’s mom said. “I tried repeatedly all night to call their cellphones without any response. Open your hearts and understand my pain.”

Because there is no evidence of a kidnapping, the case is being treated as a disappearance. More information will be disclosed as the case continues to unfold. — Hollywoodtimes.
