Miss Earth finalist Chipo Tsamba has embarked on vigorous green schools projects ahead of the environmental pageant grand finale set for August 30 in Bulawayo.
Tsamba is among the 15 contestants vying for the big crown at the end of this month.Tsamba said the green schools project has benefited thousands of children from different schools  and was partnering with Environment Management Agency(EMA), Tetrad Tree Foundation among others.

“My project targets school children, parents and communities where I educate them first about the importance of trees and conserving the environment. Recently I was at Belvedere Junior School where I started an orchard and planted 35 fruit trees and I will be moving around schools in Harare doing the same,” she said.

The model said she was also involved in another campaign called “Save our Wildlife”.

“On this project I volunteered to work with Lion Cheetah Park where I am feeding animals, cleaning the place among other chores,” she said.

The 22-year-old beauty said she is seeking online support as she targets to be crowned.

“I am encouraging people to vote for me online on Miss Earth Zimbabwe website or facebook or twitter page. Your vote can help me win,” she said.

Tsamba is a student at Solusi University studying Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Her interest in environmental issues inspired her to enter the pageant.

“I am a person who loves nature and environment protection and that is why I was inspired to enter the pageant. I have never been involved in other pageants but I believe this will be a stepping stone for me,” she said.
