Gospel musician Mathias Mhere is set to perform at a fundraising gig for AFM in Chegutu tomorrow. The musician, who made headlines for the past weeks with his marital woes said he would continue with his mission to spread the word of God. “I am getting stronger day by day and we will continue doing God’s work,” he said. The musician said they were taking their new album “Glory to Glory” to the people.

“We are having a national tour promoting ‘Glory to Glory’,” he said. He said he was happy about the response to his album that is fast gaining popularity.

“I just want to thank God because the response to the album is overwhelming. That keeps me strong,” he said.

Mhere said he was geared up for the several shows that have been lined up.

“I have realised that people have accepted my music. We have lined up a number of shows across the country to take the new album to the people,” he said.

The musician’s album “Glory to Glory” has eight tracks “Ephiziba”, “Tsano Handeyi” “Pahushamwari”, “It’s not over” “Vasiye Varonge”, “Rimwe Ramazuva”, “Madzorerei” and “Kumba Musauya”.

“Ephiziba” is a song that encourages children to know God and features Sharon Manyonganise and “Tsano Handeyi” is a song in which the musician encourages a brother-in-law to be prayerful.

“Pahushamwari” is a song that talks about people who unite to reject God. He refers to the days of Noah where people rejected God’s advice.

“It’s Not Over” is a song that encourages Christians to keep on praying until ‘’it’s over’’.

The addition of a lead guitar on this song makes it outstanding.

The musician said he was protected by God in the song “Vasiye Varonge” while “Rimwe Remazuva” is a song that tells people to forgive their beloved ones in case of infidelity.
