September this year.
The expo, which is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, is expected to bring together all in the health sector to exhibit their products in Harare between September 8 and 9.
A marketing executive in the Zim-Afro medical expo Mr Never Dodzo said the event, which is expected to be run annually thereafter, would provide a platform for service providers to exhibit their products to clients.

He said it would also provide organisations with a platform to partner with each other on various spheres.
“I want to urge all players to cease this opportunity through interaction with others taking part in the expo. We hope to make this an annual event beginning this year,” Mr Dodzo said.

He said they were also expecting to reward outstanding players in the medical field.
Categories that will receive recognition include the lifetime achiever and the service provider’s categories.

The service provider’s category will be subdivided into various other specialised fields.
Since, it is the first time this expo would be held in Zimbabwe, Mr Dodzo said no regional or international exhibitors were expected to participate.

“We hope, with time, we will be able to lure our international partners but this time, we thought it would be wise to give the opportunity to our local players,” he said.
Deputy Health and Child Welfare Minister, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, supported the idea saying in these trying times, it was vital to bring all health players together to share ideas.

Dr Mombeshora also challenged the Zim-Afro medical expo to incorporate players dealing with alternative medicines as they have also taken centre stage in the health industry.
“These are trying times in the medical field the world over.
“I challenge all players to take this event as an opportunity to the challenges we are facing and not to see problems. This expo is an opportunity to us all,” Dr Mombeshora said.
