It will be a mbira fiesta tonight at Iriduim Club in the city centre when Mbira DzeNharira bring their vibes to the venue. The experienced group is known for serenading fans with their traditional rhythms that have made them a household name. Mbira DzeNharira leader Tendai “Samaita” Gahamadze said they are happy to return to the venue that has become one of their favourite hunting grounds in the capital.

“We performed at the venue when it was still called Jazz 24 /7 and the show was great. Some people got possessed when we were playing and it shows that the spirits are with us. It shows that we are being guided along the correct path. We want to teach younger generations to keep our culture and it will be another exciting night at Iridium,” said Samaita.

“We are happy with the following we have. There are people that always follow our shows and we are confident they will be there. We know there are many Iridium Club patrons that also follow mbira music and they will be happy to have us at their place. It is a time to celebrate.” Iridium Club manager Yasin Dhala said they are glad to have mbira music at their place.

“Mbira music has mature following. Our patrons want such music and that is why we brought this group to have the best sounds on a Friday. We are inviting all mbira music lovers to come and enjoy with us.”
